Mr. Rajiv Agarwal, Managing Director of Scan Holdings visited USA along with the delegation lead by Hon’ble Subodh Kant Sahai, Minister for Food Processing Industry in India. Useful discussions were held on increasing business between the two countries with various ministries, business houses and chambers of commerce in Washington, New York Chicago, San Francisco and California. The Minister explained to the US business houses on the emphasis being given by the Indian Government to promote the food processing sector. He explained that less than 4% food, fruits & vegetables produced in India get processed and packed. This leaves scope for much larger quantities of processing thereby reducing wastages of perishable commodities. Thus India can target to become the food factory of the World. Scan Holdings views this as a great opportunity that will lead to a substantial growth in quality packaging materials.
